What we will never do
- Ask you to pay a fee for registration, placement, training, equipment, visa processing, or anything else
- Ask for banking details, credit card numbers, or a void cheque before you have accepted a written offer from an employer
- Ask for your SIN, passport, or government ID by email, text, or messaging app
- Make a job offer without at least one interview with the employer
- Contact you from a personal email address, a messaging app, or a domain other than getjobcanada.com
- Pressure you to decide within hours or keep an approach secret
How to verify a message
Genuine emails from us come from addresses ending in @getjobcanada.com. Check the full sender address, not just the display name. If you have any doubt, do not reply to the message. Instead, contact us directly through the details on our contact page and quote the message you received. We will confirm within one business day whether it was from us.
If you think you have been targeted
- Stop communicating with the sender and do not send money or documents.
- Report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and, if money was sent, to your bank and local police.
- Let us know at john@getjobcanada.com so we can warn others and take action against the impersonation.
Our commitment
GetJob Canada is a licensed recruiter under Ontario's Employment Standards Act, 2000. Charging fees to job seekers is prohibited for licensed recruiters in Ontario, and we never do it in any province. Our fees are paid by employers only.
