Frequently asked questions

Straight answers for employers and candidates

If your question is not here, ask us. We reply within one business day.

What does it cost to hire through you?

Permanent placements are charged as a percentage of first-year base salary, payable on the candidate's start date. Retained and executive searches use staged payments at a lower total percentage. Contract staffing is an all-in hourly or daily rate. Every fee is agreed in writing before we approach a candidate. See how we work with employers.

How quickly can you send a shortlist?

An interviewed shortlist within 10 business days is our standard for a briefed permanent role. Contract roles with common skill sets are typically 48 hours. Executive searches shortlist in six to eight weeks.

What is your replacement guarantee?

If a permanent hire leaves or is let go within the guarantee period (typically 90 days for contingent, six months for retained and executive), we re-run the search at no additional fee. Terms are in our Terms of Business.

Do you work outside Ontario?

Yes. We place across Canada and hold or arrange the required licensing in provinces that regulate recruiters, such as British Columbia and Manitoba.

Will you recruit from our competitors?

We approach passive candidates across the market, including competitors, unless you ask us not to. Organizations where we have placed candidates in the last 12 months are off-limits for those roles.

Can we use you alongside other agencies?

On a contingent basis, yes. We agree an introduction protocol so ownership of a candidate is never in dispute.

Do you handle Broader Public Sector procurement requirements?

Yes. We are familiar with vendor-of-record arrangements and competitive procurement of recruitment services in the Ontario BPS and other provincial health systems, and can respond to RFPs and RFQs.

How do you assess candidates?

Structured interviews by a consultant who works only in your practice area, against a scorecard agreed with you at briefing. Technical exercises, portfolio reviews, or case studies are added where the role warrants.
